Mate is a traditional drink originating from South America , particularly popular in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay which is prepared from the dried and crushed leaves of a shrub called Ilex paraguariensis, also known as yerba mate.

Traditionally, mate is consumed in a calabash (a container made from a dried gourd) using a special metal straw called a bombilla.

It has a grassy, ??slightly bitter and earthy taste. Some compare it to a strong green tea

This carefully prepared box set includes:A mate gourd made of jujube wood between 120ml and 150ml

A classic mate bombilla

A tin box containing 100g of organic green Yerba Mate

How to prepare your mate in a calabash?

Pour the mate to Â¾ of the gourd

Shake up and down to mix the leaves

Tilt the gourd at 45Â° to form the well and add cold water.

Insert the bombilla into the well

Pour hot water (between 70Â°C and 80Â°C) into the bombilla

Your mate is ready

After you have drunk all the infused water from your gourd, repeat step 5. You can keep the same mate in your gourd and drink it throughout the day.

The jujube wood gourd does not require anyspecial maintenance, guaranteeing you simple and practical use.

A gourd of mate can infuse approximately 1 liter of hot or cold water.
