Did you know that?

The Greek civilisation is at the origin of the creation of this delicacy. With the Italian renaissance, sugared almonds took off again. Florence became a major production centre.

For a long time confidential, the dragee experienced a major boom from the Renaissance onwards. It was appreciated at the court of Louis XIV, and it was the Medici family who introduced it to all the festivities in the courts of Europe. The Medici family imposed them... the tradition has continued ever since.

It was Catherine de Medicis who made it a traditional French confectionery and brought the quality requirement, refinement and elegance typically French that this delicacy knows today.

Producer :

Medicis sweets have been made in Ferrières in the Getinais since 1952. Medicis takes great care in the selection of raw materials (almonds, cocoa, etc.) and has invented new colours, new flavours and original packaging for these unique sweets. It's up to you to taste...

What colours?

In 1950, the sugared almond industry experienced an upheaval: yellow sugared almonds were offered for the christening of Princess Caroline of Monaco. In the 1980s, the House of Medicis was commissioned by the Harrods shop to produce brightly coloured sugared almonds for its English customers. This was the beginning of new colours!
